LEO'S LITTLE STUDIO
Taking music a step forward.
Musical Design Projects
I began my college journey at the Colorado School of Mines and am now continuing my studies at Colorado State University, focusing on design engineering with an emphasis in music, audio engineering, and recording arts. My passion lies in combining technology and creativity to develop innovative tools that make music more accessible. I aim to design products that help people of all ages learn to play instruments and explore sound in fun, intuitive ways—empowering everyone to enjoy the art of making music.
The Squeaker

The Wrapper 4.0

The squeaker is a battery powered electronic speaker that uses a piezo buzzer and an arduino uno to squeak out the tune Cigarette Ahegao by Penelope Scott. Not only is the device fun to sing along with, it is a simple way to engage kids and young adults with arduino technology, encouraging them to try re-coding the product to make their own funky tunes.

This is a earbud wrapper, better known as the Wrapper 4.0. This product is intended to be used once a user needs to put away their earbuds. It allows for a comfortable easy alternative to wrap your headphones quickly an efficiently and also, when paired with a carabiner, is easily attachable to any keychain making them easier to keep track of.
Designing a Music Studio
My personal studio is designed in a way to allow me to access multiple sounds via a variety of instruments as well as encourages creativity using aesthetics and easy to grab materials to write and compose, as well as record and upload.

Acoustics
When recording music, it is ideal to have a private space with soundproofing in order to block external noises. A good studio should also include decent recording software, and a microphone with an attachable pop shield. Soundproof foam is often utilized not only to keep outside noises out and inside noises in, but also allows for the amplification of sound inside the space.

Variety of Instruments
All studios include instruments, having a variety of instruments allows for the artist to chose from multiple musical genres, as well as the ability to experiment with different sounds and styles of music. In my studio, I have a keyboard, an electric guitar, an acoustic guitar, a ukulele, a lyre, some drums, and a kalimba.

Inspiration for Content
Personalizing a space allows for an artist to express themselves aesthetically outward, and then reflect. For example, I have a lot of spiritual and religious texts (the Bible, the Quran, etc.) laying in my studio. When stumped I can grab from a variety of literature to give me some kind of inspiration.

This way students can stay engaged! Its more fun to learn the songs YOU want to play- so my goal is to give my pupils the tools and skills to be able to learn the type of music they enjoy and show them how they might be able to develop themselves inside and outside the class setting. Giving YOU the tools to learn music with or without me
